More easily close a file

I know player thinks in terms of layers, but to be honest, most of the time we would be dealing with a single video file (sequence or movie).

Is there, or could there a be, a way easily close the one file when opening another file? Right now all I have found is to select the layer and right click on it to delete it.

Maybe I should RTFM…

You can clear the session from File > New Composition (hotkey Ctrl+N ). Would that work for you?

That works.I guess I thought that was going to make a whole new project or something.
