How can I use several displacement on one polymesh ??? I tried mapping displacement on part of a mesh but then all the rest disappears !!!

If you use 3D disp. you can check “obj. mat” and use a multisub material with different maps in their displacement slots.
I must be missing a step or two. I can not get it to work.

i never thought that it works this way.
i think i really need a better, or better say actuall manual.
i always thought that the map, that is used for displacement, has to be put in the TEXMAP slot of the displacement modifier.
no i see that it even work when you only put it into the vray material displacement slot.
so what is the TEXMAP slot for?
In the old days before 3d displacement the Texmap slot was all there was ![]()

if i remember right, there was from the begining a TEXMAP slot in the vray displacement modifier. not?
