can you post up your settings?
A quick fix without looking at your scene would be to turn “retrace threshold” on in the Light cache

What settings are you using for primary and secondary illumination ?

I will paste the link here

Indirrect Illuminatiobn > Vray Light Cache > Tick ON/ pre-filter/retrance treshold

Savio put the screen grab of your render settings in the forum.
I don’t have time to open your file.

cheers

Set VRayLight018 directional to 0

is it done from scrach in max 2012 and vray 2?

The problem comes from vray light in simple portal mode + directional 1

Thanks for the pointer; we try to catch this case (directionality should have no effect on portals).

Best regards,
Vlado

Strange. I hope you get it sorted out for today!
Are any of your light maps (irradiance or light cache) rendering from saved file? I’ve accidentally done some renders from saved irradiance maps after changing geometry.
Otherwise maybe try turn off lights one be one in vraylightlister (just vraysun in scene?) and render with low test settings. then maybe try turning off groups of geometry, and see if it clears with any of the objects hidden. sometimes objects with standard materials can cause excessive colour bleed, but doesn’t look like that’s the issue here. any vraylight materials in the scene?

Sometimes when i have problem files i select all geometry ‘save selected’ as a new file, then reset 3ds max and merge into fresh scene. maybe without lights and add new lights?

Did you manage to find the cause, or a solution?
