New material editor

seriously, thats what we needed. With the right textures and lightning sources this will obviously put it near vray some day. Very much thanks

it still digs a lot of power tho but it may be time I change my graphic card

Thanks for your positive feedback! Appreciate it!

Wait, what material editor you’re talking about? Am I missing something?

Sketchup Material Editor

Is it already implemented in some official build? Or only preview version?

It is currently only in the preview version but will be included in the next official release. You can get the preview version on our download page.

I’m running enscape trial for sketchup, i like it but am missing bump maps. Are you telling me this is now available in sketchup?

thx

@xxl Yes this is now available in Enscape for SketchUp.

great! but this is not available in my trial version…

@xxl So I presume that you don’t use our preview version. Please enter our download section via the [About] button in Enscape.

At the bottom of our download section you’ll find a link to our preview version.

thx! works like a charm.

Any idea when the preview version will be released as the full version?

We try to release it within March.

I realize this remains a preview version, but is there any documentation anywhere on how to do the bump maps? Do we simply assign the same texture again?

you can use the same, or load a diff. map. Typically you at least want to take your orig. image into PS and make it greyscale and adjust the brightness / contrast. But you will get some bump just using the orig. map. But it really depends on the type of material. With a bump anything dark goes down or up in some programs so if your original image has items that are dark but don’t go up or down your bump will make them anyway.
