New self illumination option

The new self illumination option is great but it doesn’t allow reflection or refraction? We create a lot of “fake” light boxes in our scenes and we usually use a light material blended with another material that has some reflection. It would be handy to be able to reflect a self illumination material.

Works fine with reflections and refractions for me; it’s just adds the given color to the shader’s final result - nothing more, nothing less. It does not interfere with reflections or refractions at all.

Ah sorry my bad, I had the self illumination to fully white. Works great, thanks! :slight_smile:

could it be used as a replacement to the VRayOverrideMtls “GI material” option?

I’m not sure how that would work; they do completely different things…
