I’m performing a DR and buckets from my local machine are paler than the rest. It seems only to be visible on certain objects, for example, in the attached, on the gold metal picture frames. To be honest, I’m not sure if my local machine is rendering correctly and the slaves are wrong, or vice versa.
Same version. No nightlies - just the latest stable release.
I am using a vray sun and a vray sky, but I am not sure if the sun is connected to the sky in anyway - I’m just manually positioning the sun where I want it. Can this cause an issue?
Sometimes it helps to simply restart your local pc and also the slaves. Then in your camera view, switch to a different camera and back to the original. Now render and see what happens?
We had a VERY weird situation the other day where some boulders from a collection didnt render with textures on the slaves, even though the textures were in the same location and also pathed the same as all the other textures that the scene use. Ended up moving just that one texture to a different folder and repathing and only then it worked. Very weird. This was with max 2014 and vray 2.4
I’m hoping the auto asset collection in Vray 3.0 will sort all these weird issues
I had a similar problem recently and it turned out that there were different service packs installed on my workstation and the render nodes. That gave me bucket differences too. Could this be the case?.
That’s weird. Its almost as if your pc can’t see the HDRI map, but the slaves can, which doesn’t make sense. My guess would also be different service packs or vray builds.
Also check that ALL machines have the decimal setup as a . (point) and not a , (comma)
In Windows 8 they decided to change the default to comma instead of point
Probabely that´s not the problem you have but there is also one other thing that makes only your workstation render different.
If you have an object with a modifier stack selected and any other modifier than the last one in this stack is selected, while show end result
is turned “off” it will render different only on your machine. For example when you have a sphere with an uvw map, the sphere is selected
but in the modifier stack the sphere below the uvw map is selected. It will render just on your machine without the uvw map while all the slaves
render with the uvw modifier.
