nice job elf. whats the line above the roofline in the middle building?
Looking good…
I have noticed a little problem in one of the stones…
Looking straight in the middle of the image, behind the palms,
the 1st one big… looks like a wrong polygon there or something…
Is the grass displaced ?

I would like to see more perspective on the townhouses behind the pool rather than elevation - Overall the image looks a little flat and is lacking some detail- The green on the balconies is pretty distracting and oversaturated. Roof material appears to be tiling and I think the rocks need more texture so they are not so uniform. The vegitation and trees look great - Good start on this I look forward to seeing it progress.

Nice job, Da_Elf, very nice.
I agree with Mike that the boulders could use a little bit more texture, but at the same time I like cleanliness of the image as a whole.
You say you rushed to finish, I’m guessing it was a tight deadline? I’ve heard of those…he he
. I’m guessing that’s why you’ve shown it from the angle you have, to avoid having to create a background landscape - a trick I often use myself. What I tend to do is to align my camera with the ground, then move it up 1825mm (that’s how high my eyes are off the ground*), a lot of that “CG” look is forgiven if the viewer doesn’t feel as though he’s looking down on a model on a table, your camera seems a little high?
I’d like to see a few more topless honeys, but that’s a general thing, nothing to do with your image ![]()
The waterfall works quite well - was it post?
I REALLY like your palm trees. If I had a model like that, I’d share it with all my forum buddies ![]()
Very nice work, fella.

*I know I’m a short-arse
nice improvement…the round rocks look a bit too perfect for my taste. Defenently better with vegetation and stuff. Maybe add some clouds.
Agree with Morbid… those rocks bother a bit. If I’m not crazy by now I guess I remember finding somewhere on the web a plugin for procedural rocks… maybe it will help a bit… and add some fine bump with a noise sor something…
well here is the list from the client
Clouds
Coral clour for the walls and bolders
Bolder less smooth and more realistic
Central 2 bolders may be too large
Furniture/people/tables/chairs - I would have thought eating table (glasses/plates/food) and chairs under one of gasebos
Sunlounger, little coffee table and chairs together in social setting with people
Flowers to add clour
Water clour coming over rocks to look like water
Umbrellas in open above social scenes
Balcony doors open with tables, chairs, sphas, sunlougers/people on baloconies
Gold buggy in forground on cart path
Roofs still do not look totally real?
Car on road between apartment blocks?
some of it i can understand. alot of it is bcause i was going on their specifications and most of its also because the cheap client is only paying me 750$ USD on a 1 week deadline. what does he expect. a fricking miricle. and can someone tell me a: whats a sphas (or is the moron too stupid to spell spa and how would a spa fit in there?) and b: how can i get the waterfall color to look more natural?
I think he meant spa… but a spa balconey… those small balconeys…
Clients
As for the water, well you have put a baby blue type color for it. And really in that situation it would be either clear (as water tends to be) or white from teh foam and turbulence.

Good luck with that ![]()
I agree with all about rock etc… I think you can add some tree behind the first four house on the front of your image to increase the deph felling, This can unflat a little your image.
About the view angle: the roof top are on/near the same line I think that you must make a bigger difference between the first/front house and the second/back house at the roof level (If you can understand me  )
I would put down the camera a little to make this difference, you will not lose detail.
Your image is to saturate and why not add a bit of magenta with your yellow/orange lighting, in many case this can make a big change.
Good luck!
nice progress
i think the pic has to much saturation , the woman sitting on the pool is not on a natural pose , the bolders could use some more details(texture) other then that the green balcony wouldn’t be my choice for color but that is the client request i guess..
mabe the sky could get some clouds on them.
gili
this scene was huge since i didnt use any proxies but when i redo it ill start proxying everything i can. should i proxy the buildings?
Fantastic render, but I’m afraid of those rocks. ![]()
hehe yeah. the rocks shall be changed
long time no see on the forum frances
Nice render.
Ver y nice modelling.
Agree with most of the above comments.
Depth couldt be much improved with some foreground elements.
Im not gonna mention the rocks.
Hope to see the final render.
Peter
should i attach all the objects in the houses into one object then proxie the buildings?
the main thing the waterfall needs is light reflection, the rest looking nice.
not saying anything about rocks!!
new rocks are already in development so you can all rest easy on that
If you attach everything on the houses, make sure that all the materials are within one subobject material. Otherwise you wont get things textures properly.
But if you attach the meshes then a sub object mat will be auto made for you … all you got to do is select that material.
