Progressive Rendering Unexpected Stops

For some reason when rendering in Progressive Rendering mode, my render completes the Light Cache, completes the IR, completes Pass 0, Pass 1, then stops rendering at Pass 2 with LOTs of noise in my scene.

I’m trying to render based off of Noise threshold and not time. So my Time is set to 0.0 and my Noise threshold is high 200, even tired 7000 just to see if it would last longer, but it doesn’t. My settings are attached.

Any suggestions?

Very unfortunately the color threshold for the progressive sampler is broken in the current official 3.0 builds. This is already fixed for SP1.

For the official builds, you will have to set the threshold quite low for it to have any effect, and even then it might be noisy.

Thanks Vlado!

When should I expect the release for SP1?

Well, the goal is to have it around the end of October, but it’s always tricky with these things. If you are in a hurry, email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com and I can get you a build for testing.

I can wait, Adaptive still works great! Thanks Vlado!
