Question about subpixel mapping

Hi all,

Cant figure out why do i get random/wierd white artifacts on vfb rendered image when subpixel mapping is turned off (clamp output is turned off too). Seems like it doesnt happen to all my projects but to most of them.

Does anyone knows why this happens?

Thkx in advance

Cheers

A lot of the time it’s due to a small part of the image reflecting something really really bright which is hard for the anti aliaser to deal with.

See this thread for more details;)

Thanks all, will do!

Just read your topic 3DMK.

As far as what i knowleged fr some test and read is that catmull or mitchell (hard edge AAs) will make these artifacts more visible when sub mapping is off. Softer AA like area or blend will help “disguise” it?

And setting vray sun to invisible will it help too? Anyone tried it? - read in vay complete guide by francesco.
