We are simulating 50 mil of liquid with foam and particles and it says it is using 2.5 Gb of ram. But in windows performance our ram slowly gets lower and lower until it runs out and simulation stops/ is it phoenix bug or what? Thanks
also we have for foam half-life 1- and outside life is 2. So foam is dying after 2 seconds outside the grid and not growing and growing I guess
we have 64gb of ram. At the beginning of simulation we had 40Gb available after 4 hours we have 16Gb available. our grid is adaptive but it changes between 30mil - 60 mill cells but ram is still dropping;
about 50 frames before that we had almost twice more cells because where a fire hose was pointing. Not sure how at the frame where less cells are it ran out of memory. I will try non adaptive grid. But it looks like a bug because ram gets clogged up overtime. Slowly more and more is used.
Ahhh, in case it’s liquids, there’s no preallocation indeed. Let me see if I can reproduce it here as well. Would it be possible to share a shot of your settings? Are you simulating just liquids and foam, or are there splashes as well? If you turn off all particle systems and resim with just liquid, does it still run out of memory?
HI I am doing also foam and splashes. I will try to resim with just liquid but currently we are simulating other stuff. Can i just email you the scene somehow. I am not sure how to do it with a new forum. thanks
