reed chairs

This is kind of my first true interior project. Worked too long on it, but learned a lot about Vray. I know there are GI artifacts, probably due to geometry issues. Let me know what you think

And yes it misses a lot of detail, but that’s because I am too impatient to wait for rendering

Amazing

Fantastic image. Yours seats are incredible, the light is good → perfect for me

Vince

Awesome!!!

Can you explain something about the chairs creation?

thanks and congrats

Amazing chairs !!!

Bakbek

simply impressive

Spectacular!!

nice render.ithink the doorknob is a little too small and i would increase
the tilling from the floor.looks a little too big!
can u show us the maps from your chairs  ?

Fantastic image
perfect

Very impressive! Those chairs are perfect. Maybe some cushions for them though? They look very uncomfortable.

BRAVO…
I think the CHAIRS are very simple as a GEOMETRY… /if not PLEASE
Excuse my FRENCH /
It was YOU who made that DISPLACEMENT test with this TEXTURE…Right ? Here’s where it comes in USE
GREAT WORK Anyway !

**Question !**How do YOU make Your GLOW from the windows… IS it POST ?
Really keen to get INLIGHTED about that… ?

simple but perfect

i really like those chairs. very nice

what do you think of turning the lamp away more to get slightly more reflection of the rest of the room?

Nice chairs!!! Displacement?

Thanks for the comments.
Maxer, the doorhandle is modeled to scale
Candelero, yes glow is postprocessing. You can achieve this with a blurred layer of the scene and overlay this with screen blending mode. Then play with the layer blending and opacity.
Percy, you are right, but as I mentioned I was too impatient.
I have uploaded the displacement image here The creation of it is described in this topic.

Thanks alot Gijs

WOOOW

EVEN IF ARE PRESENT SOME LITTLE IMPERFECTIONS ON GI SOLUTION, I WOULD SAY : NICE RENDER NOTHING MORE!!
   : :stuck_out_tongue:

OBVIOUSLY IT’S A JOKE

VERY VERY VERY GOOD MATERIALS ON CHAIRS AND NICE ENVIRONMENT LIGHTING IS VERY VERY NICE TOO

wau, nice work dude

that z-buffer workflow for the displacement map is outstanding.
thanks for sharing

my only crit: the scale of the reed seems a bit to big. the real one i have at home is about 70% to your virtual one.

-oconv

really nice!!!

i tried for myself, but i can´t get it to work here..

sample scene?

Stephan,

This is rendered in 1.45.78. Are you using 1.09.03? Because displacement modifier has changed a lot since then. Anyhow, you should put the map in the displacement slot of your vray material and add a displacement modifier to your object. Use 3D displacement and check use object material. I think you need to switch off max’s default displacement in the common render settings dialog when rendering ion 1.09.03. Hope this helps you.
