This is probably a pretty simple and stupid question to be asking, but I can’t figure out how to set the reflections in a VRay material to falloff over a given distance -- how does one do that?
Thanks!
Shaun

Use fall off map with distance/fade fall off type, you can also use gradient ramp. Where black is non reflective and white is 100% reflective.
But wouldn’t that make the material less or more reflective based on the distance from the camera to the surface? I’m looking to have the objects reflected in the material fall off as they get further away from the reflecting surface…
Or am I just not following?
in that case adjust your fall off map to be perpendicullar/parallel fall off…
Thanks man, I’ll give that a shot.
I think you want to use the glossy parameter. That defocuses the reflections as objects get further away.
