render wetmap

Hi there,

I’am try’n to simulate an effect like tint wich sinks into paper and expands in it.
I’ve try’d to use wetmap with consumed liquid, but without too much luck.. (is there a way to render wetmap only?)
or is there another way to go?

thanks in advance for any tips and hints on it.

best regards

Jonas

the wetmap is rendered via the particle texture, an old phoenix undervalued tool

i see. thanks. how would i animate the wetmap though? like expansion over time. when i animate the blend radius it expands uniformly.

any hints by chance?

what you are trying to achieve?

smt like this.
like a pen in CloseUp writing, while the ink expands like in the link below.

you can use a setup like in the attached file, a simple gradient is used as “wetmap”, replace it with the real wetmap
wetting.zip (17.4 KB)

nice! will take a look at it. thanks a lot Ivaylo
