Rendering images

Does enscape not render the final images with High settings? I just noticed that when I use an emissive material as light source the final render is very bad.

make sure you add some Esncape light objects in those light fixtures (linear or area lights.) Emmissive is not meant as a light source and the calculations will be splotchy like you are seeing.

So…wouldn’t you get double lighting and shadows? Or is the material just contributing to indirect lighting?

You can lower the emmissive amount so you just have it for visual effect but not to contribute to the lighting. Emmissive doesn’t produce sharp shadows afaik.

The results depend on the Rendering Quality you’ve set beforehand. Make sure to set it to Ultra or High before taking your rendering. Let me know if you experience this same behavior when it’s on Ultra or High, then it would be interesting to have a look at the project to troubleshoot why the emissive surfaces are not being displayed - can you also check if they’re invisible when you set the time of day to night, or late afternoon?

@Demian_Gutberlet I think they are only using emissive materials for a lighting source, no Enscape light objects in the scene.

Correct, which is something which we generally not recommended since it can cause quite a lot noise in your scene otherwise. I’m just curios regarding why they are not displayed at all, although they may be overshadowed by the outside light source.

I thought he turned off the emmissive materials to render the second image, which shows that the global illumination is smooth compared to emmissive sources.

Ahh, I understand!
