Revit to Enscape Materials / Rendering Settings

Ive been looking at additional rendering programs for my company and came across enscape and downloaded a trial.

However I have been finding it difficult to use.

When rendering a project the complete image is almost white/ black and materials or textures are not picked up

is there a way to import materials to enscape or am I missing a step altogether

see below microwave done in Revit but the others in enscape

Materials need to be set in your Revit model in order for them to appear in Enscape. Double check that this has been applied to your walls/floors/ceilings and your other components. It looks to me like everything is set to “Default” material in Revit which will appear grayish white in Enscape.

Thanks for your reply , I’ve got a fairly big model with over 50 materials . Glass , wood , paint , concrete etc some of which I’ve even set myself , everything appears when I render in revit its just enscape nothing appears

Hey @alexjemalc , thanks a lot for your inquiry.

Excuse me if I’m missing something, but comparing the microwave rendering done in Revit with the preview output of Enscape, I can see that the textures actually seem to be applied in Enscape, if you look at the clock and buttons/menu for example:

In that case, would you be so very kind as to send me a further rendering from Revit alongside a screenshot of Enscape again, from a scene/perspective in which I’ll be able to see the mentioned missing materials? Also, a screenshot from the corresponding Appearance tab (in the Material Browser) of a material which seems to be missing would be great as well. That would be very kind and helpful, thanks a lot in advance!

The clock and menu buttons I added using the add decal option in the revit project , not through applying a material to the family .

Ive also attached the appearance tab for the cupboards

There are a few Enscape settings we may want to make sure are correct (for what you’re looking for)

In Revit, Enscape Tab>Settings

General Tab>Mode>NONE

Image Tab>Saturation>100%

Advanced Tab>Material Selection>APPEARANCE

@DraftingDave Thanks for sharing the right information.

@alexjemalc Please check these settings.

And please have a look at

  • The lighting setup for the Revit renderer seems different as for Enscape
->Please make sure you’ve selected the right time of day as well
  • Floor and Wall textures seems to differ completely. Please make sure you’ve made the right adjustments in the Appearance tab.

For more information we would need your project sent to for further analysis.
