Samples for clean animation

I’ve noticed lately that interior animations require more samples than before in order to generate a clean animation. I used to be able to use 300-500 samples and get flicker and noise free results. Now I’m having to use 1k in order to get something that is usable. Is anyone else having this issue? Did something change in the last view updates that has ruined fast, clean animation rendering in Vantage? Any tips for better, quicker results at low samples?

Does “lately” mean version 3.3.x? Are you rendering the same scenes (apples to apples)?

It could be some new render feature like the support for bump map shading graphs. Are you rendering without a denoiser? You said “noise free” which makes me think you are. The Optix denoiser is shipped with the NVIDIA driver, so in theory they could have changed it, though we haven’t noticed or heard something like that.
