there is nothing special in the setup, but we had to polish some functionality in order to make possible such simulations, so if you try to make it with the official release, the result will be worse.
With such results, this can compete with Naiad and Houdini at any time.

How can the foam calculations be sped up? Already using “point mode” and no refraction on a similar sim and the foam is taking over 2 hours to calculate for one frame.
If you are using one of the latest nightlies, turning on “Light Cache” (also for bubble or cellular mode) does the trick.

the first and the most important question about the particles is their count. you can see it in the input panel. two hours for a single frame means too big count or complicated lighting.

Hi Ivaylo! Your xeon E5 2680 is it a dual xeon running at 2.7Ghz? Or is it E5 2680 v2 running at 2.8Ghz? I am now simulating the example with dual xeon E5 2680 v2 and it takes 1 minute 16 sec a frame.

Ok in that case at 2.5 Ghz, it should be a dual xeon E5-2600 v2. and not E5-2680 v2 which is 2.8 Ghz.
anyway just curious to see how different hardware can sompute with phoenixFD. I wonder how fast the faster i7 would be with this scene?
Does anyone has a Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E 8-Core 3.0GHz to benchmark this scene?
