showroom

Hello, this is my first image post here. This is inspired by the Vola showroom by Aarhus Architects. Not the same project, just an inspiration. The photos in the walls where made by Diego Cabezas (my photographer brother) as a little tribute to my parents.

I tried to achive the best result as I can with this image, render took 10 hours at 3500 pixels on the larger side. Also used 3dsmax, Photoshop and brix plugin for the floor.
Hope you like it and crits are very wellcome.

Welcome..! Real nice work. My only comment would be the flooring scale seems off, really large boards. Other than that, great work!

Thaks glorybound… the wood is inspired by Dinesen woods… in their web is where I saw the image that inspired me.

wow, very nice!

I agree with Glorybound about the scale of the floor.
Otherwise it seems a perfect job, especially in lighting.

Congratulations!

It’s great!

neat!.. good work.. n welcome!

Floor scale looks fine to me when you reference it against that Dinesen Wood website.

Love your wood and concrete textures and soft lighting, really nice!

Only thing that sticks out for me is the fire - it’s a bit overexposed, it looks like the brightness you’d get in a fire if it was the only source of light at night time. During the day time, fire is more red and orange, similar to this:

Lovely render though.

Wow, thank you everybody for your coments, I really apreciate them.
About the wood, I like the scale as it is, but I think the material itself could be improved. And about the fire you can see the image that inspired me in this website http://www.dinesen.com/eng/fronteng.html .As you can see all the lights in the image are overexposed, and thats what I was trying to achive… anyway, I’m going to test another one not so exposed to see the feeling…

Hey emonimo,
one question: Is your fire just photoshop or how did you do it? I have to do a fireplace too and I am just wondering what the best approach is.

Cheers,

Funnily enough, I am also rendering an animation with a fireplace. Are you just using an opacity mapped plane with a fire graphic on it?

Yes tricky, for my fire I’m using a vraylight material with an image of fire I made in photoshop and an opacity map… it looks a little flat, but if your camera is in front of the fireplace it could work nice.

Fire is the only thing that sticks out to me as already mentioned.

looking really good to me. compared to your inspiration image.
good work. was it just for fun, for learning purposes ?

regards

Thanks eyebee, glad you like it… it was made for fun and learning too… always learning.
