Suction force to fluid simulation?

I wonder what is the best practice to generate a suction like force to Phoenix liquid simulation?

Hi Juha,

What is the effect you want to achieve ? A source with negative outgoing velocity will do the job.
But if you need to get a whirlpool effect, you may need find a way to fake it as this sort of pressure casing by the strong pump is not able to be simulated easily.

Thanks,

I didn’t realize this negative emitting possibility. However, I’m not sure if I got this right. The suction comes from above. It’s a kind of conveyor that crabs the fluid from above and transfers it. Then later it’s scaped of the conveyor. Do I need bigger negative emitting value?

I’m not sure of this can be done with a single processing/fluid. Probably a Source with negative velocity to pour the liquid up and make the low container empty while with another source to fill up the conveyor simultaneously. You can try and see if such setul will work or not.

Thanks,

I’m playing now with viscosity. I think, I also should make some tests with Non-Newtoneses as well. I started with the paints preset. It has 0.03 viscosity.

You can experiment for sure and try to find a working solution as we don’t have a tutorial or guide for this setup.

Thanks,

In my latest model I have two separate Phoenix sources for the effect (third one is the main source). I have moving conveyor with a negative outgoing velocity and a stationary conveyor with positive outgoing velocity. My idea was that while the liquid is born in the stationary surface, the moving surface produces the force that drags the material as the conveyuor moves.
