Gonçalo

very very nice, the shadows is almost identical.

/Thomas

Very nice!

Then I will also try!

Hmm.. when I open your file and hit render I get this:

why?

I’m using max5.1 +vray 1.09.03a

/Thomas

Probably the Gamma settings, Im using 1.8 for all

I ve also try it with default gamma values and I got that too!

Gonçalo

I see… Any reason why your using gamma?

/Thomas

Gonçalo,

Very nice. Have you tried the image with putting the window shade or blinds in? I wonder if you could get the same result.

-corey

this is the gamma recomended by PURE, and I think Viz radiosity too(not shure) So I never need to change it, and I think usualy its easier to setup the light too…Also It easier to see the materials on the ME.

Gonçalo

Yeah why are you using gamma :stuck_out_tongue:

Very nice test Goncalo, the only thing I see missing is the light part in the corner, I’d like to see it with a small radius or at least a fillet to get that highlight

I ve try to chamfer the edges, but it doesnt look good enough…they still remains dark…

Gonçalo

Here is a test with phonton map and chamfered corners, I cant avoid the dark edges…

Gonçalo

I guess a work around may be to model the corners seperately and increase the “recieve Gi” for them. Only for the very inside of the corner

Add some blinds! with irradiance map (takes forever but I think worth to wait for)

Gonçalo

Some interpolations on the shadows would probably help! 92 overbright
warnings and render time is 31:57 with irradiance map

Gonçalo

Nice test GoncaloP

but why is the right part of the window darker than the left one?

Could you post your updated max file?I will try to test it with Lightscape.

very intereting post Goncalo!

hehe… I had to use the new exclude option on Vraylight!
It renders slow in about 48 minuts on a Dual AMD 1600+.

I would love to see the results with lightscape!

The blind of the right side is more opened

Thanks

Gonçalo,

Outstanding!!! The last image is superb..really nice with the blinds! Render time is not too bad either…

Good work…

Corey
