Thinkbox Deadline 6.1 has a new feature for vray DR in max and maya.

Out this week I haven’t tested it yet but I am installing it right now:

V-Ray Distributed Rending (DBR) Support for Maya and 3ds Max - For Autodesk® Maya® and 3ds Max users, a new Deadline interface automatically updates to show which nodes are running the Chaos Group V-Ray® Spawner and instructs V-Ray to use the available nodes

Doesn’t DR already do that? Or did it not work through Deadline?

We didn’t see which nodes were rendering with DR in deadline before. You had to check the vray log. And deadline surely didn’t instruct vray to use the nodes. Will see if it help stabilize the thing.

ah I see, it shows you which spawners are being used by which jobs. nice

Does 6.1 allow you to turn spawners on/off?

From my tests, it reserves the slaves for DR (no other job will run) and starts the vrayspawner if not running (we have vrayspawner as a service so is always running). It also stops the spawner (if started by deadline) if you cancel a task/DR slave.

Best regards,
