Tips for getting better translucency

Hello,

That would be nice to hear from the users on some tricks to work with translucency in Vantage. The logic of getting those on Vray is slightly different on Vantage, the parameters on 2sided material or Thin walled, don´t work as i would expect.

I know thin walled is not compatible, but using 2 sided materials maps often look very dark an not very realistic at this moment in therms of absorbing and scattering light whithin geometry.

Tks!

Can you attach an example .max scene (with textures) where the 2-sided material in Vantage doesn’t match V-Ray ?

Tks for the reply, i will get those files. But at the moment, i feel there s no option to change the intensity on translucency on vantage. In vray we can use different colors and maps and Vantage is like an on/off switch. We cannot change colors of translucency.

If there is, can anyone show an example?

Tks

I typically use a 2-sided material for curtains, but creating a good transluscent, sss like material is a little harder. I would like some tips too.

I don’t understand what you mean, I need an example file where V-Ray/Vantage don’t match.
