ups for x4 GPUs...

I’ve decided to get series about RT and installed 4 GPUs in my main workstation (x1 Titan, x3 980ti). Power hog. Overloads my APC Back-UPS BR1500G when rendering w/ all 4 cards - sometimes pulls over 900 watts (BR1500G limit is 865w). My workstation is the only thing plugged in). Any solutions, or do I just need to risk it and plug it directly into the wall?

Thanks,
Ryan

Have a look at there:

http://www.tripplite.com/products/ups-v-a-capacity

you need a more serious ups then, which can hold higher voltage. They can be loud though…

i have one of these:

cyberpower are a pretty respected brand, but cheaper than APC.

it will handle a load of 1350w, and is silet apart from when tripped or the source voltage drops too much and it cuts in to keep the voltage up. (we live in the countryside in italy, so the power is very “lumpy”)

Thanks for the info. I found it odd the euro version of the PR1500ELCD is 1350w - US version PR1500LCD is 1050w…

I think I will go with this one…

Thanks again,
Ryan
