V-Ray 6.0 with Enscape Compatibility

Hello everyone,

It was announced on August 25th that V-Ray 6.0 will have Enscape Compatibility. Their website states: https://www.chaos.com/vray/sketchup-rhino/beta

"Introducing the most powerful visualization workflow in the AEC industry. With V-Ray 6, you can transfer your real-time scenes from Enscape and continue building on your work to take it to the highest possible level of photorealism.

With support for Enscape materials, 3D models, and lights, V-Ray ensures that all design decisions are kept throughout the project development stages and collaboration between designers and visualization specialists goes as smoothly as ever before.

No dead ends. No starting over. A seamless end-to-end design process."

Is there anything more from the Enscape team that you can share with us? Thanks

I have tried it. Vray 6 is free during beta and anyone can use it. It detected all of my Enscape materials with correct bump maps etc. So far i find that color corrections made in Enscape is not transferred to V-ray. Also Enscape assets are being recognized by V-ray. I haven’t tried custom assets tho. However, i am still expecting a Path Tracer from Enscape. Because paying V-ray for final renderings is not something we desire.

yeah had same issue here but its beta you know they will fix it hopefully

We have our own “custom assets” that are not through the Enscape editor but proxied to links on our own server. Vray does not read those links, but will only read the Enscape assets. It would take a lot of work to exchange those assets or load the high poly models, which would extremely slow down the model. Maybe this will get fixed post Beta?

@Demian_Gutberlet Any updates from Enscape’s side with V-Ray compatibility?

Here’s a nice FAQ where you can lear more.

https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/9476032845585-I-am-an-Enscape-user-why-do-I-need-the-compatibility-

The link does support custom assets.

When using V-Ray to load Enscape scenes containing 3D assets, please keep in mind that V-Ray must learn where the assets are located and this is currently done by running Enscape on the same machine - just once. If you store your assets on your local machine when using Enscape, then those assets will also need to be present (in the same local location) on the machine V-Ray is using. The same goes for your custom 3D assets. This is all usually simpler when using a central network drive location for all your Enscape assets - and if you do, it’s always safer to record the location as a UNC file location rather than a mapped drive letter.

In my window 11 PC, I can’t see enscape asset library objects in vray render of my sketchup. Do u know the reason and problems? plz

I cannot see enscape 3.4 asset library in vray 6 render, I am using window 11 version, now.

Is your V-Ray installation on the same machine as where you have Enscape installed?
