First of all, kudos to the developers for their incredible work. It was worth the wait.
As the title says, V-Ray is relatively affordable.
I would like to learn it thoroughly, and an annual subscription to study it completely isn’t unreasonably expensive. But the problem is, it’s not available for Linux.
I can pay for the pleasure of learning a product that seems very well integrated into my go-to software (Blender), but I can’t migrate my entire daily workstation to Windows just to do that.
Especially after managing with so much difficulty to get my ZBrush stable on Linux.
It would be nice to see V-Ray for Linux at some point, hopefully not too far in the future.
Hi prv_works,
Thank you for your feedback. If you’d like to see V-Ray for Blender supported on Linux, you can vote for it in our Ideas Portal. You’re also welcome to submit any other feature requests there. This helps us better understand what our users want, and it also allows others to vote.
Ready there, I already voted, thanks for the info. Hopefully we can see it soon.

Hey @prv_works ,
V-Ray for Blender on Linux is with high priority in the list and the goal is to have it ready for Q1 2026 if there are no serious blockers. When the time comes I can check if we can share early builds with you in case you’re interested in testing it early and see how it runs on your Linux distro. Let me know what you think?
Let me count on testing.
At the moment I’m on Ubuntu 25.10
@shaio
Friend, as soon as you have the development version, just get in touch with me.
I’m delighted to be among the first to test this very mature V-Ray for Blender on my Linux system.
I’m currently on Kubuntu 24.04 LTS with NVIDIA 580 drivers.
Amazing, thank you! Me or somebody from the team let you know when we have something ready for you.
nice! thanks @shaio :o
