VFB has terrible lag when render is over sometimes, please do something with this.
And sometimes cant close it because this lag and it shuts down max, really terrible.
Hmmm I’ve never had this issue at any workplace or at home. Maybe your computer has a hard ware problem? Maybe try low thread priority.
Have this lag too.
I dont think so. When you have a very detail scene (lots of objects, textures etc.) it do the lag for sure.
It do this at home, at work and here at forum there was a thread sometimes back.
When render is finished and you wanna close VFB or do anything else in it, it has a lag for the first action you did in VFB. And as I wrote, some users wrote the same here in a forum.
This is a known issue that we are working on.
You could try to turn off the Nitrous progressive refinement and use Direct3D or OpenGL, usually this solve it.
Also there is a thread with more information:
http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbulletin/showthread.php?66629-VFB-amp-Vray-Log-Slow
For the moment there is nothing we can do to fix it, as the problem is in the Nitrous viewport. Look at the suggestions that Tashko posted for possible workarounds.

Vlado
Vlado, do you know if it will be fixed in 2013? It doesn’t seem to affect the Max frame buffer?
Ah I’ve always turned off nitrous which would explain why I haven’t seen this one…
Same problem here, though it happened suddenly, before we had no problems also using 2012 and nitrous.
It will be a bit better.
It doesn’t seem to affect the Max frame buffer?Nope, it doesn’t affect the 3ds Max frame buffer, because it is created as part of the 3ds Max UI, whereas the V-Ray VFB is somewhat “external”. The 3ds Max developers could not give us any tips on how to avoid the issue and they seem unable to solve it on their end either. So we’re kind of in a dead end here for the moment. We might be able to hack something around it, but it would be so flakey that I fear it may make things quite unstable…
Best regards,
Vlado
eh…wut?
Not sure why you have an attachment instead of just writing what you unchecked, but regardless, your attachment is broken
Yes, write down what you unchecked.
The attached image:
Viewport Config > Display Performance > Improve Quality Progressively (check this off)
Yep, this is what Vlaso said. This help a bit.
So just for info, this seems to be much better in 3ds Max 2013 PU5.
Best regards,
Vlado
