Vectorworks 2026 support

Hi Enscape,

When do you think Vectorworks 2026 will be supported? It is out now.

Thank you,

Pavol

Would be great to get some sort of timescale…

Hi @drelarch and @lovespies , while there is no definite promise I can make yet, our next upcoming preview (releasing this Wednesday) should add support for VW 26 as well. If you’re unable to make use of our preview for any reason, you can be assured that this support will of course also be added to the next upcoming full release.

I’ve installed the new preview version (4.12.0.153) and VW2026 works fine with it immediately - not done anything too complex but basics seem fine.

We’re eager to use it in VW 2026, but since they are working out some bugs of a new release, we are still working in 2025. But don’t let that slow you down from getting up and running for 2026. Thanks.

The 2025 version had some lingering bugs in it which were pretty much showstoppers for me (crashing when updating rendered or Renderworks sheet viewports), occasionally simply causing walls to vanish) that when I found v2026 didn’t have them, I decided I may as well take my chances with a fresh set of bugs. Change is as good as a rest, as we say in Yorkshire… :o/

@PhilBixby ,

I’m having trouble importing Enscape into VW 2026. The ā€˜Tools> Third Party > Enscape > Add Enscape to your Workspace’ option is not visible in VW 2026. I can’t even find it when editing the workspace. Is it hidden somewhere else?

It installed faultlessly for me this time but I’ve had this issue before. I uninstalled Enscape (via Settings > Apps etc), rebooted the PC, and then installed the new version of Enscape and it appeared as it should.

We will give it a try soon.

Does the New official release today ( V 4.12.0.204 ) include support to Vectorworks 2026 already? Or is that still only on the Preview 1 release?

Changelog says just VW2025…

Hi @CarlosMPA_1 , only our current Preview 1 of Enscape 4.12.0 includes support for VW 2026 Beta. But I’ll make sure to notify you via this thread once we release another version that officially supports it soon.

FYI - I still cannot add Enscape to VW 2026, even after uninstalling it.

Any ideas or help?

I’ve had no problems with the current Preview version (not the official release). In the past when I’ve had similar non-appearance issues I’ve uninstalled via Settings > Apps, rebooted the PC, then installed the new version and it’s worked (but like you I’m just a user, so it may be pure luck…)

Thanks @PhilBixby , I can’t explain it, but after doing all the things you mentioned, it’s still not available.

Dear Enscape ( @Demian_Gutberlet ), will we see a fix soon, please? I am reluctant to start using Vectorworks 2026 because I can’t use Enscape to render any work created in the new version.

Here’s a question for @PhilBixby or @Demian_Gutberlet :

To use Enscape with Vectorworks 2026, do I need to remove it from Vectorworks 2025? Is that the problem?
Do I have to uninstall it and remove all the registry entries (that’s tedious) so that VW 2026 can see it?

Please say no, but if true, having an instruction list for uninstalling would prove helpful again.

Afternoon Lee

As per previous comments, I’m just a user like you so you could probably do with Demian’s input, but…

I just tried firing up VW2025 with one of last year’s projects. Enscape icons were all as they were back last year, all worked okay when launched, with the Enscape version being the one I’m currently using (the Preview 1 version). I shut it all down, opened VW2026 and a current project, and Enscape works fine with that too - so no - it doesn’t appear to be a problem with VW2025 ā€œkeeping holdā€ of Enscape or anything weird like that.

My own method - which I got from a posting on here which I now can’t find - is to uninstall Enscape using Windows 11 Settings > Apps >Installed Apps and uninstall from there. Then reboot the PC. Then install Enscape (usual double-click of the .exe file). Maybe then reboot again just because. Then fire up VW and it appeared okay for me in Tools > Third Party > Add Enscape to Workplace. I’ve got a fairly standard Windows setup - but clearly different things happen on different PCs… …good luck!

@Demian_Gutberlet Here’s a question.
Is there any reason to believe I cannot install Enscape in Vectorworks 2026 because I already have another third-party rendering plug-in installed? I was asked to be part of a beta tester, and I just realized their software plug-in exists.

Any reason to think that? Otherwise, why isn’t the Enscape Workspace Integration Menu Item not in the Plug-ins folder? Would you be able to do that manually for now?

It seems from Enscape’s own site, it’s not ready for VW 2026. I see version 4.13 states it is.

@PhilBixby , you must have some magic going on there in the UK. In the States, not so much. I guess I’ll just wait patiently.

Hi Lee - now on the Preview 2 version which works fine. The official (v4.12) version definitely doesn’t work with VW2026 but Demian promised it for the next update so here’s hoping…

(There is much going on here in the UK but I’m not sure any of it is magic!) :wink:
