vertical black lines on saved image when saving image

Corona 14 update 1 9 dec.
C4D 26.1.0
Mac Tahoe 26.1
Mac Studio Ultra m1 128Gb

See attachment. I tried saving in other formats but the same problem, thin vertical black lines from to to bottom of image. Saving to clipboard works ok.
The image on screen while rendering looks fine. Saving as 50% does not work either.

Well, problem solved itself. The work I did today no longer had blak lines. No idea what it was.

Hopefully it was just a temporary glitch. If it ever happens again, please let us know. Ideally, please contact us here, attach a sample scene archived with all assets, and explain how to reproduce it: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

It’s happened to me as well. Can’t reproduce it. Comes and goes.
If I have an object I want to save to the Asset Browser I’ll do a do a very small square render that I have a preset created, usually an interactive render instead of production render and save as a jpg just to update the preview in the Asset Browser to something better then the default thumbnail.

Hmm, that is worrisome. Since it’s random, it will be hard to investigate, but please contact us with a sample scene as I explained in my previous message. Thanks!

It’s actually random and not often. I can save my work by using the copy to clipboard or make a screenshot with my 5K monitor.
It might have to do with the graphics card. I am not sure if restarting helps but will try next time. I remember vaguely something similar happened years ago and it was solved somehow.

It’s a mystery. I’ve only had it happen a few times. The lines were not visible in the VFB, only in the saved jpg file. For me, these were very quick tiny renders of simple scenes so I don’t think it’s a hardware issue. If I recall correctly, I rerendered a couple of them more then once and they still had the lines but not in the same locations. I don’t save the scene files once I save to the asset browser.
I’m blaming solar flares or the slight change in the tilt of the earths axis;)

Had it again, this time with a huge amount of black lines. That was a few days ago, since then all good. A restart usually solves it.

All my renders now come out with black lines. Only way to save an image is by using the copy button and open the image in preview.
I think the blak lines mostly appear with higher resolution images like mine at 6000x4800

I noticed that by saving a cxr and resume render I can still save all without black lines most of the time. I save as tiff usually. Renders vary between 4000 and 6000 pixels wide (4x5). RAM usage about 50 to 70.
The Alpha channel does no longer work though. CR saves a greyish images so that pass still needs to be copied and saved like that. The ID pass works well though.

Hi @Frv @Pepelecrabb - could you guys please check this build and let me know whether the black vertical lines problem is solved for you? https://forum.corona-renderer.com/ Chaos Corona 15 for Cinema 4D Previews (daily builds) - Changelog

Thanks Maru,
I will be doing renders end of the week or beginning next week. So I can let you know by then.
Would be great if its solved.

I have not had any black lines so far after a days work. It seems it’s no longer an issue.

Great news, thank you for testing!

I have been doing lots more work and the black lines never appeared again. So that’s all good now.

Maybe not a bug but I see after rendering when I close the VFB I need to click away an empty white window twice.
I work with the latest preview 15 but this happens too with 14

Hmm, never heard of that. Can you share a screenshot or video?

After rendering, I think for a while, I click away the VFB this window remains and I have to click it twice to get it closed. See attachment.

OSX 26.2
CR 15
C4D 26.1.2

I was able to reproduce this on Mac, but not on Windows. This is now reported as (Report ID=CC4D-1290).

Same issue since a while, sometimes a lot of lines, sometimes just a few. Corona 14 update 1, Cinema 4D 26.2.0.Very frustrating and of course I’m on a tight deadline :frowning:
