3dsmax 16 fresh scene, opening material browser…crash to desktop.
reinstall doesn´t help… on other machine no problem.

Can you send the 3dsmax_minidump.dmp for this crash to support@chaosgroup.com? It should be created in the Temp folder right after the crash occurs.
To get a quick access to this folder open Explorer and type %temp% in the address bar.

I have similar problem with opening Material Browser in 3ds Max 2016 after upgrading max to 3.50.04
Max file and minidump are sent to support@chaosgroup.com.
Merging the objects into the new scene and reopening all the materials has no problem
