If this is the case, I’m quite sure that this is not the way that Chaosgroup wants to make the announcement.

Dude… seriously.. As said there are 2 more service packs coming first…
i guess the ipr render will be only in version 4
We are just trying to get you guys mentally ready that there will be a V-Ray 4 at some point There is still a lot of time until then, like I mentioned elsewhere, we plan at least two more 3.x service packs. The production IPR feature will be in V-Ray 3.5

Seriously guys you should see the amazing stuff in the vray 5 alpha though.
Seriously John, we agreed off the list not talk about Vray 5 until we get our hands on Vray 4 beta…
I am beta testing VRay 6 currently. I love the one click button feature “auto lighting and shading”. This button create and set all shaders and lights automatically.
auto one click for shading and lighting and we all go to say bye bye to our 3d career
We’ve been testing Vray 7 with PDPlayer 9 here and it’s pretty amazing. No more photoshop thank god.
im testing vray 10 now… no more mouse… its all by the mind control.. it so easy to create shaders like that! wow
There’s still too many settings…I’m going back to Arnold! 
the very exciting news is that vray 4 will be out in half, in 2017. second half in 2018.
