I just noticed this. It was working in beta version but now, whilst the ground shadows update changes the clouds themselves do not.
Using Max 22 with version 6.00.04
Works fine on my end. Maybe, because of the height, the difference is not that visible?
I see why it happens in the scene I had.
I had a dome with the sky in it, nothing in env slot.
Is this intended? I thought the idea was to have the sky in the dome for speed…
Works with a VRayDomeLight as well on my end. Could you attach the scene?
The attached, as it is, exhibits the issue.
If you refresh, then continue to tweak, then nothing happens (apart from the shadows acting along with the tweaks).
You can trick it into responding by adding an environment map, then turning it off.
Then, if you clear the map from the env slot there are no further issues.

Thanks for the scene and kudos for the workaround. I’ve logged the issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-12388 ) for dev analysis.
No problem.
It’s an odd workaround which doesn’t seem logical, so I’ll be intrigued to discover the underlying reason that it works ![]()
