Vray Licensing Problem

Hello,
We use vray at my workplace, we have a workstation that we use for development work and a render server. We switched the render server over to 3d studio Max 2011 earlier in the year and I continue to use 3ds max 2009 on the workstation. We switched
the workstation to 3ds max 2011 last week and reinstalled vray I launched the license server but got the " WK1118- " error box with the title " WkWin64.dll " After pressing OK I then get " error 128 is occured! " the title on this being vrlservice.exe: Start Error .
I REALLY need help getting this problem solved fast.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

If you go to a browser window where the dongle is located and type- http://localhost:30304/getstatus
Does anything come up?

Hello,

It seams like a WIBU-KEY driver issue. Please proceed with fresh new installation of the latest WIBU-KEY drivers corresponding to your OS from
http://wibu.com/download\_user.php

Make sure that the dongle is not plugged in and the V-Ray license server is not running during the installation.

I get “internet explorer cannot display this webpage” and a dialog box with " “localhost” is not set up to establish a connection on port “30304” with this computer. "

Thanks,

Hello Zori,
Thanks for the quick reply; I’ve a question the site is in german so are the drivers known as " codemeters " or are they in the " Wibukey Runtime-Kit " ?
Thanks,
Lytestream

There is an english version of site too, but in any case you need the WIBU-KEY drivers.

Best regards,
Vlado

Hello Vlado,
I installed the drivers, launched the server and I get this dilog box with a yellow warning triangle with an exclamation point in it: Error WK1122 -
WIBUKEY.SYS cannot be started (systems error 577 ). The dialog box is titled " WkWin64.dll " . Any suggestions would be gladly followed.

Thanks,

Lytestream

Hello again,

Please uninstall the WIBU-KEY driver and delete all WIBU related files (if any left). Check if the V-Ray license service and the WIBU-KEY server are registered as Windows services and if so, stop them. Plug out the dongle. Then proceed with fresh new installation of the WIBU-KEY driver (for Windows Vista/Windows 7 make sure to use the “Run as administrator” option).
If the problem persists, please e-mail us at vray@chaosgroup.com in order to arrange a web conference to solve the issue.
