VRAY licensing

Hi, noob VRAY user. I have same 3ds viz 4 installed on work pc and home pc. Typically, I use the Portable License Utility and bring my VIZ license home for the weekend and vice versa. I guess my question is, does this setup work for my copy of VRAY at work? How to I set it up at home? I’m planning on doing it this evening.

Not directly, but you can most likely email vray@chaosgroup.com and get the home machine authorized also assuming its the same max serial number..

thanks, I’ll try that. I noticed your from Philly. I use to lifeguard at Stone Harbor, NJ during the summer. Ever been there?

just thought id mention that vlado and peter are over at siggraph. they do check their emails though i think.

If you use the PLU you can use the same athorization code on the other computer. The maxID is used to authorize VRay, and that is transferred with the PLU.
