The vRay rect lights are just linked to the guy there.
Why is hitting the floor if the floor is not linked to the rect lights?
The attributes of the light are:
invisible (ON)
affect specular (OFF)
affect reflections (OFF)
Why the light is also hitting the car even if the light is pointing to the guy?
This is way to estrange for me.
1. Do you have any idea why vRay is calculating the diffuse on the floor even if it is not linked to the lights?
2. Why in the render the lights get cut on the floor? If the suppose to diffuse the floor - the lights suppose to be visible in diffuse everywhere.
3. The paint car is also being hit by the light. Even if the light is pointing to the guy.
If you have any idea how to solve this problem, please let me know.
I’m not reproducing the issue on my machine. If possible sharing a scene would help a lot on finding what is causing the issue. Also please check if “Ignore shadow and light linking” is set to ON under the Lighting rollout in Render settings → Overrides tab.
Hey,
Sorry for the delay. I tried your mesh and it still works fine on my end. What version of V-Ray do you use? I tried 3.60.02 and 3.52.03 without success on reproducing it.
There is a Layer called “Lights_Please_Hide” if you hide all those lights you will not get the problem I have in the final render.
Which I refuse to accept. If I need to have those lights and render at the same time with all the other lights, then those lights need to be visible.
By turning that layer on - you will have the problem.
2. Having all the lights in the scene.
… you need to model your model again. Hoping this is not going to happen again.
So have a happy modeling again !!! :-x
sometimes MaYa is …
As you can see the in the picture below the guy in the back (on the right) is also creating problems for the calculation and this will be reflected in the box. http://www.class-a-strak.com/FAQ/Lig…2___Render.jpg
The guy in the front (left side) is calculated correctly according to the Light Link assigned.
And you can also see that the wax material reacts properly. The wax material in the back have really problems.
The scene is exactly the same. No changes.
I just made a copy from the guy in the back, moved the guy, the box and the lights to the front.
I have exactly the same amount of light in both models.
They are also Light Linked in the same way.
The problem comes from the Adaptive lights being ON. As a workaround you can turn them off until we find where exactly is the problem and fix it. I’ll keep you in touch if there is any new information about the issue.
Well I’m glad I could help. However It isn’t recommended turning off the adaptive lighting since it can greatly improve the render times but is the only workaround in your case. I’ll keep you posted and let you know as soon as we fix the issue.
