Vray sun not displaying correctly in viewport

Have a new problem :). I have recently upgraded from max2008 32 to 64b, and from vray rc4 to SP1.

The same scenes that i did in 32 (which i have begun working on in 64) are now lit by a really dark vray sun, causing all the textures and geometry to look really yellow and brown. When i delete the sun, the textures geometry etc all display at the right colour but not when the sun is in the scene. Updating the graphics drivers and trying ever max display driver has proven fruitless.

I tried creating a fresh scene in max 64, but the sun still behaves in the same way… so it definitely seems to be a display issue with either the new vray, or the new max (or both LOL). Any ideas?

Can you show me an image? Do you have any Exposure plugin selected in the Environment dialog?

Best regards,
Vlado

Image attached. Im finding its also rendering VERY dark, but i havent changed any lighting settings between the 2 versions. Exposure is not on in the environment dialogue.

ok i sorted the rendering coming out dark, still have the viewport issue though.

Someone suggested Ctrl-I to turn off default lights. This has partly worked … it has brought back the colour, but now the viewport is still dark and there is no direct light. Im wondering if this is a max issue after all. :frowning:

*edit

OK I have sort of reached a semi-solution to this. It doesnt fix the problem, but makes it more tolerable.
