I know this has been an issue since a few updates ago, but I was hoping the latest update would’ve fixed it. I am still having issues getting my maps to show up in my viewport…which I use ALL the time in my workflow. When the issue first arose, I could right-click the mat/map in the slate material editor and click “show shaded material in viewport”. Now that doesn’t even seem to work…or if it does it’s not consistent. I’m on the last version on max, and latest vray build.
No issues on my end. Materials appear in the viewport as expected. Could you attach a video reproduction of the issue? Any environment variables that might be causing the issue?
It would be nice if you attach your problem .max file with the texture. I have same issue sometimes but I cannot figure out what the problem is. I didn’t spend time to dig this problem out but I suspect something like these:
- v-ray material/map from old version of max/v-ray loaded into new version of max/V-ray;
- texture dimension;
- texture file size;
- texture file type;
- max viewport texture display resolution.
