What up?
I am new to vray and am tryin to get around some tasks as I go through the functions and techniques that I used to do with good old Brazil. I found Vray great and fast renderer that has the potential to become teh best in the CG industry.
Anyway…here is my problem…I am trying to render an interior scene.
The first image is simple white color, the second is with a textured floor.
You may notice the brownish color bleeding on the walls and the ceiling that makes the secon image quite darker than the firs one… Is there a way to set up the scene so that the floor keeps its color and params but doesnt transport so much of its own color onto another surfaces?
Is this just my feeling or do you think that the colors look natural…please take this as a sample scene…
Also, the firs image renders in 6 passes, but the second one with the same renderer settings renders in 4. Why is this??? Cant figure…
well I guess u use vray free, try to increase the enviroment multiplier (enviroment rollout, check overwrite max’s) then reduce the lightsource multiplier. Tweak, you’ll find a good balance.

uhum…, do you use self illuminated planes as windows?
You could try reducing the GI Send Multiplier of the Floor Object in Render Dialogue>System>Object Settings as well and increasing this setting for the white walls.
Probably I would try to use a very high amount of Vray Skylight, like 10 or so, to get enough illumination from skylight.
I dont see in your images a clear light source, IMHO thats why your second image have that effect.
The nearest column appears to have upper edge more bright than it would be. Maybe checking “check sample visibility” resolve this. Also try to decrease secundary bounces to correct color bleeding a little (i think) :?
yes I use some area lights(planes) in the windows, when I set the environment multiplier higher, the image is way too overbright, when I set the fill lights lower, the image is too dark, so I set the bounces higher and I get this stupid colorbleed…ges I have to tweak, tweak and tweak…
Do you guys know some kind of interior light and system setup that works the best?
the Problem of color bleeding in vray should be solved in future in another way. there should be a button in object settings, better in material settings, to bring down the force of color bleeding. like in max 5 radiosity.
I think it would be more comfortable not to change the Gi multiplier ore the force oflights. (more like realworld behaviour).

hope you dont mind but i had a go at your scene…
GoncaloP is right (as alway’s)…but i think i would delete your vray light’s
and just use the skylight and turn it up to around 6, use HSV colour mapping and turn down the secondry bounce’s… that should solve the problem.
