why does this happen, Prepasses

Ok so I’ve rendered out a irr map and saved it, when I go to ‘from file’ option the messenger says it has loaded the map successfully and looks like it is going to render out at the bucket stage (which is what I would expect) but it starts on all prepasses all over again, I thought this happened when materials had the ‘Use Interpolate’ option checked? any ideas,

Sure, first I think I will try and put basic vray material on everything and hit render, and see what happens, if same I will send file,

Edit: just did that and rendered out from irr map with no problems/repeating prepasses, so hence it must be a material thing? what should I look for Nikki?

I can’t say for sure, but i think there should be a material, which is not in the ME… which can cause the problem… /probably ticked with <Use interoplations>/.

You can start hiding objects -one by one, until You get to the one, who is
making it… then use the Eye-dropper tool to get its material in the ME…

worked well for me the other day when i had the same problem on a consulting job i was doing.

natty, is the script also looking into Multi-Sub, Blend, Shellac, and other materials that contain more than one Mtl in them… ? 10x
