Why V-Ray UVW Mapping node changes configuration when conecting nodes up the pipeline?

Hi, I’m using V-Ray 7.4 for Blender 5.2.0 LTS in Linux.

I’m trying to texture a model with an Cubic Environment Mapping, to avoid having to UVWrap all the walls in the model, since it has wallis in 0 and 90 degrees walls.

But When placing the UVW Randomizer, suddently the UVW Mapping Changes to Projection Mapping and the Type of mappings disappear.

And fruthermore, If I connect a node down the line, for example a V-Ray Layered node, the UVW Mapping get change to a UV mode and the Matrix node gets Disconnected.

Does anybody knows if the UVW Randomizer node has a limitation when working with other types of mapping for example Object or Environment Mapping?

Or is this a bug? Should I open a Support Case?

The UVW Mapping nodes changes automatically when inserting the nodes in the pipe.
Even when connecting the UVW mapping node as the last node changes its configuration and wont let me work with other types of mapping.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

The UVW Randomizer node works only in UV mode. The other modes can’t work when the node is connected to a Randomizer.

I’ll log this as a UI improvement, as the current behavior may be confusing.

Ohh ok. : )

I’m still learning to use the V-Ray nodes.

It would be nice to include that note on the UVW Randomizer node documentation.

I guess the V-Ray way would be to do it though a triplanar texture utility.

Thank you very much Zhanet.

BTW Thanks to the V-Ray team for doing the Linux Implementation of V-Ray for Blender.

Kudos to all of you. I hope you have a growing demand of it.
