These are almost done. Still need to fluff up the bookcases and fiddle with the lighting and textures a bit. Any comment would be greatly appreciated.

Yep. Lots of light. In the case of the lower lobby there are large windows illuminated using several large VRay Lights and there is a direct light shooting in as well. Add in a few downlights for good measure.
I struggle with with walls all the time, which has more to do with peoples perception of what white should look like rather than how light actually behaves. VRay needs a psychometric rollout in the render settings. 
Great images …congrats.. i find with white walls, if you use an output in the diffuse slot of 1.2, that works great for creating whiter walls..
