Any of you guys have the 360…Just picked up Gears of War and Call of Duty 3. Both are awesome games. Cant wait for the PS3. Little expensive, but the system looks great.

You must wizz Mr DaForce
private joke mate no worry

grabbed Gears at lunch today, hopefully project load lightens up to give me some time to check it out!

yeah wait for daforce, hes the gaming guy round here…

Im going to get gears of war right now actually.

I have NHL 2007. That is a great game, I wish they added a little more in dynasty mode.

BASTARDS!!! you and your gears of war :frowning:

I gotta wait till 23rd Nov to get Gears :frowning:
But COD3 is out on the 15th, but might get that on PC to use with my 8800GTX
Tony Hawk and RB6 Vegas are the others im keen for.

Anyone played SplinterCell Double Agent yet? Thats pretty damn sweet!!!

Hey all you xbox360 chaps, add me to your friends list.. daforce2000

oh yeah… thanks Priad

No COD3 for the PC…bastards, we made them, now they leave us for the consoles

We better get COD4 or they’re in trouble :stuck_out_tongue:

what what what what

Damn i thought it WAS coming out.

Thats amazing that they are not bringing it to PC

Guess I will be getting it on 360 then.

Ive been waiting for a HDTV to get bought to get one… Just managed to convince my dad to get a 42" plasma, on its way for january

I’m pretty much only getting it for gears of war & bioshock, then after my first year of live runs out i’ll sell it and get a ps3.

Ive never been more excited for a game than I am about bioshock, and dont even get me started on the art direction

Dont get a plasma if your going to be playing your xbox on it. Get a LCD. I have a 42inch plasma and Ive had it less then a year, and I swear the burn in is already becoming a problem.

We dont really need COD3, when we got Farcry 2 “crysis” although…yes we should have it dammit we started it

I didnt think they had that problem anymore. Thinking of going for the Philips 42PF5521
Is it worth paying an extra £150 to loose brightness, contrast, and about 100,000 pixels?

How often do you use your tv, is it always on?

I haven’t had my plasma for very long, so I doubt anything major has changed with regard to burn in. Also, the plasma is the LEAST used tv in my household.

Do what you want, but I’m giving an honest opinion based on my own experience. video games are NOT meant to be played on plasmas.

I tried LCD, Plasma, big screen crt projection and DLP and after about 2 to 4 weeks with each in my house (dont ask  ) I setteled on a 46" DLP and love it. yea I cant hang it on a wall but its just as light as the 42" Plasma I had and its only 13" deep and the picture and clarity is great and best of all I never have to worry about burn-in

As with everything though it comes down to personal preference…

Well, price mainly. I’d like a DLP but theyre very hard to find too.

Yeah…Gears is bad…Got my head blown off many a time and loved every minute of it…Yss…Daforce and I have met on other forums ad well… I never did add you…I will tonight…picked up Tony Hawk also…I’ll have to send some pics of my setup…

dah.. so you have like 3 games that im so keen for :frowning: hahaha enjoy

The demo for tony hawk was pretty cool.. great graphics!!

yeah i got a xbox 1.4 i think with ICE, currently used for stream media from my pc

How much luck have you had with your xbox360 “extras” ?

Currently as I only have a standard def tv :frowning: I use the VGA cable and connect up to my 22" CRT so its pretty sweet, and i have ahh..oh yeah.. Logitech Z-680 5.1 speakers, which i use for my PC but hook up via optical to the 360 when playing games.
So until i get an Uber plasma/lcd this is a pretty decent little setup IMO.

For me its was the screen that made a difference, the LCD I had, had a bright green pixel in the upper right and the store said this was acceptable as far as the manufacture was concerned. I said I thought thats what they would say and the LCD TV is out front in a truck waiting to be returned. Next the Plasma although nice bugged me as I could see the pixels (almost reminded me of an old “light bright” toy) and on that particular one you had to be within 15 degrees of the sensor on the TV in order to work the remote and the worst was the incredibly limited blacks on screen which realy sucked as it looked almost like it was running on 65k colours , so that one went back. looked at the big screen rear projection TV’s in the store and thought not bloody likely and thats when I got to looking at the Samsung DLP’s it had great grey’s to blacks, nice sharp display without the annoying pixels and no need to worry about burn in plus this one had dual tuners and almost every video input known to man. theres only 1 thing I’m not to fond of and thats the spinning colour wheel but knock on wood Ive had no issues and after 2 years it still looks great. One other nice thing is over time the Plasmas will washout to white where the DLP will get darker but you can change the bulb and its good as the day it was bought. Also with the Plasmas and LCD’s your pretty much screwed if there are bad pixels on the screen. My next purchase will prob be a (when they come out) DLP projector similar to the big theater ones where there is no spinning colour disk, and in it’s place is 3 prisms to handle the colour.

Anyway enough rambling this is a short version of my ordeal of finding a tv that Im happy with and ended up going through about 5 before sticking with the Samsung DLP and got a killer deal on a Harmon Kardon AV receiver at the time also…

I’ve been impressed with newest line of SONY Bravia series which I’ve seen at some stores lately. They’re a bit pricey but as for color fidelity, it didn’t seem like anything else could match it.

As for how long they last and other problems, who knows…

Hey there…yeah man…I was fragging some people in GOW the other night…and I mean fragging… The “extras” are working out great…No snags so far…I will look you up on Live one night and we can chat it up a bit…
