YET ANOTHER DR QUESTION

Okay,

I finally got around to installing Viz and vray on several of the machines in my office to test DR.

I select DR radio button, searched for the computers and found them. They are all enabled.

Then.
select my project directory. Try to chose network directory by hitting the browse button and NOTHING, no dialog box, nothing happens. This also happens when I try to select the “max directory”.

I still tried to render though…

It starts by “loading” the scene, then says “finishing scene” then says “disconnected”…It switches between these several times then stops.
With no output visually or as a saved file.

FYI, I have also set the image to be saved and not saved to see if that would make a difference.

Ive read alot of post but no one has mentioned this problem…

Any help would be great.

TIA -

ps. Does NET rendering have to be set up on all rendering servers?

DR doesn’t use or need backburner. about your problem, do you have virtual frame buffer checked? just my thoughts

R2J2,

I just did a reinstall tonight and used the DR setup utility and all is working great with 4.26. I just got 5.1 loaded up but havnt tried it with that yet but can post if I have any issues if you want.

BTW, dont get me wrong if you already know but in the “tips and tricks” forum Vlado posted a “tut” on setting up DR…

ok,

I finally figured out what the problem was. I was having problems with saving files. An error would occur forcing me to merge my objects into a new file.

So, I jumped on autodesk’s website and found that if you have Service Pack 4 installed, this error would happen. Our IT manager just installed it a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunetly he didnt save the uninstall feature. After a complete format and re-install with SP3, everything worked PERFECT.

DR IS WAY COOL…

Thanks for responding though.
