  • Olli96- I'm debating between 2 dual core 275's or the 285's. It looks like your render time with your 285 machine is about a third faster than the 275's times that I've been seeing (about 3:30 for 275 vs. 2:30 for 285). At about $800 US dollars more it looks like it's worth the cost. Is this what you came up with?

    • well yes, i always had to make compromises when i bought a new pc and this time i had enough money (i paid 3800€ for my whole pc - without a monitor) to buy want i want and after i had a look at some benchmarks i decided to go with the 285. for me it was well spend money, even tho i cant go on holiday this year. my contract here at my workplace ends in august and i might do some freelance work if i dont find anything else and for that i needed a fast pc anyway...

      • Ok, thanks. I'll be pushing for a system like yours. Good luck in with the freelance.

Someone knows if Sandy Brigde-EN or Ivy Brigde is a faster CPU?
