Are their HDRIs unclamped? Try looking over at HDRI-Haven for top notch HDRIs.

I actually pay a lot for the ones I use and they have always worked the best for me. I have tried others and they don't seem to be as good.

Although I had some good results with similar towels using some fur, which could be used on that closer one on the right for added fluffiness

Also, make Post Effects Update Rate 0 (Zero) when using production mode (specially if you have one gpu only).

if you drag that hdr into a material slot you can adjust the green level by enabling color map option then switch from mono to rgb and decrease the green level

Do I drop the left control point down slightly? Basically, adding red?
