This is wip which i'm working on (max 7 + vray 1.46.15)
first image i used
first bounce : irr map , hsph = 50 , iterp = 20 , preset medium.
second bounce : light cache , 1500 subd.
the pic rendered with no pre calc sollution.
render time was around 2.5 hrs

first bounce : irr map , hsph=25,iterp = 20 , preset medium.
second bounce : quasi on default settings.
for this pic i pre calulate sollution on half of the size and then renderd using the saved irr map.
render time include sollution was 40 min.
so from my tests i think irr map + quasi is faster and smoother.
what do you think?
How can i reduce the noise on the right wall?
