No, unless you installed it as an extension in sd you're not using it. You'll need to install it and start enabling the different options of controlnet.

You are using stable diffusion but controlnet is a plug-in/extension that you need to add to stable diffusion. What you show in the video looks like just stock stable discussion/automatic 1111.

You don't download it directly, you install it thru the extensions tab of SD.

Not really. Tweaking your negative prompts should get rid of all of that in my experience (which is very little TBH).
