why are your posts image tags not working for me? working here!

anyways disc breaks are never that colour, would have streaks and probably be slotted on a car like that.

also the tyres are too shiny and not black enough.

and the paint would look better if it had something to reflect.
      come a long way though.

its also not a very good green, make it BRITISH RACING GREEN which is super dark and perfect for that car.

Try throwing your car into this scene: (Max 9)

        http://rapidshare.com/files/36001335...ro_01.zip.html

replace the box with your car. even includes free goofy car shader!

See this thread for how it would generally look. Feel free to mess with it at will.

Hi Ken, that's one very nice Aston

Somehow i like the previous version (vantage.jpg). I think the headlight is much better in chrome

Did you model the interior? would be better if we can see through a bit

          Cheers

Hey have a look on that cgcars forum they have a bunch of free textures and bump maps for the brake rotors..etc.. would make them look a hell of a lot better

              Colours n stuff

              Hi guys,

              thanks for the comments

Wertz, it's an official AM green - BRG isn't used that much. Discs are slotted (7 line curved slots) already, just that as I say below, the texture is no way near finished.

DaForce - I'm using some of the CGCars textures already on the disc - It's just the reflectivity I've got to get right - that diffused look but with the right higlights.

I'm still fiddling with the lights, brakes and other stuff. Got focussed on putting in the panel gaps over the last weekend - I'll put an update on as soon as they're done - very fiddly.

The interior is coming last...long way to go yet. Mind you, I've just finished a big project which included the factory nearby where they make all of the leather interior parts for the Astons - very cool watching them being made. Beautiful leather too....

Once again, thanks for all the comments. It's made progressing the model much better for me.

                Light

                Harry,

yes, you're right - the chrome ones look so much better - it's my fault, I mistakenly replaced it with the same texture as the wheel!

                  Wheel

Here's a reworked version of the wheel

I don't know why the images won't embed for me - maybe I'm doing something wrong!

It still looks a little too reflective for me but I'm not familiar with high performance brakes like this. Regarding the images, I think you have BBCode turned off for that post (a checkbox under the edit window).

Yeah the updated well certain is still way to reflective.

                      Looking good tho. Getting there

i just had a look at my dba 4000's on my wrx and i can say these are not too reflective they are pretty much spot on!

real ones are darker in the grooves due to that part not being constantly polished and brake dust getting in there etc.

they are missing some nice 6 pots calipers though!

as for you images not embedding do you have 'disable bbcode' checked below? cause that would cause that as there is nothing wrong with the code.

hmmm you make a valid point... damn

Hit 1.0G around a corner the other day ... thats driving pretty hard. Thats about the adhesion limit of really good road tires I believe.

I do need to wash my wheels tho, brake dust black is not a great look.

well the g's you can pull around a corner would be up the the car

a clubby type of thing can pull 2g's

and then dedicated race cars can pull 3g's

but wrx's and evo's which arnt ideal shapes can max out at 1g maybe 1.2 or so with a realllllly good tyre and suspension setup.

and a piece of shit 4wd can do... 0.2g before it rolls over

                                anyway getting off topic

id say the shiny ness of my discs are due to their newness, as they get older the grooves cut into the disc would make them less and less shiny.

When my last set shattered they were pretty dull and pitted. (yes shattered, thats how hard i drive :P )
