    brake discs

Hi again guys, here's the latest render

    Woohoooooo - it's working!

The difference in the shinyness of the discs comes from several variables, one of the most important being the material it's made of. I know the steel used in everyday brake discs is lower quality than the kind bolted to the AM (I'd want top quality brakes when I need to slow down from 150mph!) It's also dependednt on the coarseness and material of the brake pads too.

I checked my GT6 brakes as well - they're shinier than I'd anticipated. The grooves in the disc, although small, are smooth on their faces, and kept so by the act of braking. It's really the angle of the faces and the number of them that diffuse the reflection.

Anyway, I'm sort of happy with the wheels now, so am moving on to the tyres. That's if work will slow down a bit to let me time to do it!

Thanks for your comments guys - all gratefully received.

To be honest this particular AM doesnt look to have overly special brakes, cant find any images of an AM with carbon ceramic's... but you can see those picks elsewhere on the same site, under ferrari and such.

        Discs

The face on image looks really dull, but the angled views show more of the reflection. Hmmm, it's an interesting problem....
