Thanks for the support aaron-cds, it helps.

I wouldn't say I am showing a pattern. I did have a disclaimer saying that a couple interiors and a couple exterior patio water images were taken from the Evermotion collection as an example and I provided a link to Evermotion. Those have since been removed due to this thread and 100% of the images are 100% recent side jobs. You are correct... I am not the only one with this issue and we all have to start someplace and I am not special. So on with life..... check my site often and if I ever show anything that isn't 100% mine I will close my site forever.... promise. Fair is fair...

aaron-cds, I like that one year contract idea. How did that work out? With the cost of software, hardware, health insurance, it is a dog eat dog world. The health insurance is the only thing really holding me back. I would trade health insurance for my services.... hmmm maybe I am on to something :P

You do good work Bobby. You don't need evermotions stuff to show that you're capable.

Yes Bobby...Be really careful on the showing others works ...I mean...really...If you buy the evermotion interiors...and want to change them up a little bit...So what? Aren't all rooms the same with different stuff in them...If I may quote Carlin a little. But I see what your saying...But still you should take them off.. Plus...you BOUGHT them....can't you just download them from the same site that has Vray 1.5.... JK...

But your work has progressed so much and surpassed mine in the last year. Your renderings are fabulous and should have no problem on your own...As long as the work comes in. That is my main problem here...I have been over 12 years and I am this close to Partner...BUT...I have to bring in a lot of my OWN clients to really show them I am an asset I guess...So I you have clients you hate working with....Call me...LOL...JK..No really...JK...No Seriously...

As long as your employer is cool with it...then chug on...with your own work that is...Keep it up...

Thanks guys... chug away. What do you guys do when you are to busy to take on work, yet you can't justify hiring someone? Anybody here willing to do some modeling if I need to keep work moving?

Here is one view. I used the final release 1.5 without having to darken all my materials to 1/4 the brightness. 1.5 sure behaves differently then the betas. Comments welcomed... The magic s-curve is welcomed, but please let me know the settings if the image looks better .

Very nice image fella, although (and I know it is not your design) it looks like a row of garages.

I've noticed the same thing about using 1.5, using Lele's .255 method doesn't really seem necessary with the new sun/camera systems. Everything seems to get exposed correctly by just picking a color and using a normal real world exposure value (the sunny 16 rule generally looks perfect). We'll see how that works out.

For your image something doesn't look right, the shadow areas don't seem dark enough especially in the recesses around the door entries etc. Are you using the vray sky or an HDRI? The window reflections don't look right as well. For example the window in the first visible recess (next to the column) should be reflecting the siding and stone, instead it's reflecting sky and trees. I suspect you faked them but it makes them jump out a bit. The color seems a bit too saturated as well but maybe this is correct based on the materials. the 3D trees however are definitely too green, just compare them to the photo trees in the background and you'll see they don't have enough yellow in them. I'd also take out or remove the blur from the foreground trees, it's a little distracting and realistically speaking, to have them this blurred they would have to be fairly close to the camera, and since you have a fairly low camera angle, you'd be sitting in the bushes taking the picture!

                    hmm ok. Looks pretty good.

But the trees you have scatter around the place dont look good at all. WAY to fluero green..
And they seem to have a black silhouette around them.

I personally really like the blurred foreground trees. May not be physically accurate, but I like it.

Here is my little tweak. not drastically different (and I didnt touch the GREEN trees) but I think it looks a tad better. Then again it is 5am and I need sleep so who knows what im thinking right now.
Basically a very faint s-curve, then shadow/highlight and only using the highlight part to lessen the fairly white/blown out sky, and then lowering teh saturation just a touch.
To me it now looks richer without being too strong and the light seems more correct for that time of day. Was abit to "generally" light before.

Looking good! The imagetweaks from Daforce make the image better, less flat. I agree with the remarks about the trees and the green colors.

It looks like the sky is a bit clashing with the lighting, by looking at the sky it seems the sun would be in the lower right of the picture. But maybe that's just me.

One little thing caught my eye though: by coincidence the birds in the sky in the middle of the pic seem to be crashing down with a trail of smoke

here is a birdseye... true LWF (I think) using V-Ray 1.5. LCD is gamma 1, MAX is gamma 1, v-ray is gamma 1 using linear 1,1,1.

Any tips on the PhotoShop haze around the image. I just used a brush, but I have seen better here.

Make an selection and Feather it, play with the amount, Inverse the selection and delete with white or what ever colour you want to see set as your forreground colour.

I tried your method, but it didn't seem to work. I also used my Professor Franklin's Photo Effects, but it didn't have time to play. I think what I did looks ok. Here is an updated view of the first post.

also uses no gamma correction in either max or viz... loving 1.5!
