mik, i think dimos solution is limited to what you can set up in PFLOW. Correct me if im wrong Dieter.

Hi,
I wrote new PFlow node that connects to the Ageia fluids. The Ageia fluids are pretty cool. You can check the videos at the ageia home page.
http://www.ageia.com/developers/index.html
or here:

I think that the PFlow Toolbox 2 will support that, too.
I bought a card yesterday. I have realtime fluids in 3dsmax now . Only bad thing is that there's a particle count limit of 32k particles. I hoped that this limit was only for software mode, but it's also limited in hardware mode.
Perhaps I can find a workaround for this.
Best regards,

Hi,
PFlow is not multithreaded yet. But I heard rumours that this is in the works.

along with max being fully multi-threaded!
Yeah right..........

The multi thread option will likely appear in one of the orbaz boxes - oleg is still doing a lot of stuff with pflow outside of autodesk - he's added in a lot of updates that replace pflow code when you install box 1 and 3. It's a shame that autodesk didn't keep him on, pflow could be great.

sorry stupid question too late here...
rendering time per frame for the small resolution was about 8 min on my rather outdated workstation.
Simulation time for the whole sequence was less than one cup of coffee. I think about 7 mins. But this was with 128 substeps per frame.

looking promising Dimo.
If you need a tester let me know, I got a couple of projects coming up that could be a good test situation for this.

At least, it seems GPU hardware seems the way to go. Just saw this:
